Summary
Armed with my design of the intelligent vending machine and user insights, we created a physical cardboard boxed model to test design elements. The responses were overwhelmingly positive and constructive in enhancing the product’s features and uses. I formed a team including people from Engineering and Business discipline and we pitched the idea to Project Olympus- a start up incubator at Carnegie Mellon University with an aim of developing the technology and licensing it. We were accepted into the incubator and are working on developing the technology.
The first phase of the operations involve developing an add-on IoT (Internet of Things) integration module for the existing vending machines while the second phase involves changing the design of the vending machine in accordance with the horizontal vending machine design.
